The word engraving refers to a part of the procedure to obtain a print. We understand that an engraving is the original mold, a metal plate, wooden or of any other material which, once it's been worked on, is susceptible of being inked and it allows us to transfer the image to the paper. We also call the printing a test, and it is the result of inking and pressing a plate previously engraved.
